Friends,
Today we join in mourning with the nation of Haiti whose President has just been assassinated in a middle-of-the-night raid into his home by armed gunmen. The mood is somber on the island today, grief mixed with sadness mixed with nervousness for what lies ahead. Please join us in praying for the precious people of Haiti.
Pray also for our small team who arrived to the island just yesterday to make preparations for next week’s Teacher Education Conference. The events of past days have forced an indefinite closure of Haiti’s airports. And, though La Gonave is arguably one of the safest places in Haiti to be right now, it is proper that we consider contingency plans regarding the conference and for our team’s return home.
Pray God will give wisdom.
